Recorderman & Glyn Johns Technique

Here is a famous example of how to record a a full-bodied, wide image drum sound using just 2 mics.

The first is a Recorderman. It is thought to have originated on the recording.org forums. Posted by a user known only as 'Recorderman'

The second is a sound made famous by Glyn Johns who was responsible for perhaps the most famous drum sound. That of Led Zepplin's John Bonham.
